‘Hunter X Hunter’ might be back for real this time!

Popular shounen manga, HunterxHunter, with over 79 million copies sold worldwide, might be making a comeback after a four year long hiatus.

Yoshihiro Togashi, the creator of the manga, joined Twitter on Monday and teased new chapters for the long awaited series.

In a post, he uploaded a picture which appears to be the end page of a manga page with a caption that somehow translates to ‘four more episodes for now’.

The manga fans went crazy on the internet amassing a total of 800,000 likes and 200,000 retweets, on the post within a single day.

To confirm the rumours, the creator of another popular manga ‘One Punch Man’, Yusuke Murata, retweeted the post, captioning, ‘from the man himself’.

Hunter x Hunter was first published in Weekly Shonen Jump all the way back in 1998, featuring the 12 year old protagonist, Gon Freecs, in his quest to find his dad. He is accompanied by his friends Killua Zoldyk, Kurapika and Leorio.

While the first part focused mainly on Gon, the show gradually explores the stories and fights of other side characters like Kurapika and Killua.

Togashi is one of the most celebrated manga artists, with pieces like Yu Yu Hakusho in his arsenal. He had refrained from drawing because of his severe illness and back pain.

The manga even has an anime adaptation that recently aired in 2011,  which still garners a lot of views on Crunchyroll.
