The AMD Radeon R5 GPU is an integrated DirectX 12 graphics card, that is available in some AMD Beema and Carrizo-L APUs (like, for instance, the A8-6410 or A8-7410). It has a great range of shade cores of up to 128, across two Compute Units and is based on the GCN architecture.

The clock speed for the AMD Radeon R5 can be up to 850 MHz, but the graphics card lacks a dedicated VRAM, and thus will channel through main system memory, i.e. the single-channel DDR3L-1866.
By making the use of its UVD (Unified Video Decoder), the GPU is able to uphold activities like decoding videos till 4K. On top of that, the chip provided also features a special video encoder known as a VCE. Via this GPU, activities like video streams can be outputted through VGA, DVI, HDMI 1.4a and DisplayPort 1.2 and that is up to two external monitors.

The performance level on the Radeon R5 is a little superior to the Radeon HD 7470M too, or even the Intel HD Graphics 4200. Under this GPU, usually the low demanding games like FIFA is bound to run very smoothly.

Overview of AMD radeon r5
Features
On the surface, the AMD Radeon R5 M430 is a low-end GPU, similar to the GeForce M335, belonging to the latter AMD RX 400 series. It is built on a 28nm process, and has the clockspeed potential upto 850MHz.
When kept side by side with the other market competitors like the Intel HD Graphics 520, which is an integrated GPU available with the 6th Gen Skylake processor that comes with the 6th generation Skylake Processors by Intel. It’s clear from the graph that the Intel Integrated GPUs are too much for the AMD’s low-end Graphics.
Performance
AMD Radeon R5 Graphics series, is basically, a low-end series of the Graphics Processors, that are supposed to elevate the gaming performance over competitor, the Integrated GPUs. But the current generation’s integrated graphics are infact, faster in comparison to the 2 years old AMD Radeon R5 Graphics, like the Radeon R5 M330, R5 M335, and the R5 M445.
Today, even the AMD Radeon R5 430, feels a little short for a dedicated GPU. You can definitely run a few older games with AMD R5 M335, but this experience can be even given by the integrated GPU. That’s why the R5 M335, today, isn’t worth it to get that extra 4-5 FPS.
Our recommendation, honestly, is to purchase a dedicated GPU like Nvidia GeForce 940MX or the 950MX, that will perform way better, in comparison to the R5 M335 GPU.
Gaming Bechmarks
The gaming performance of any GPU is truly dependent on the use of graphics memory, clock rate, processor, system settings, drivers, and the operating systems. So the gaming performance might not be the same for two laptops, even if their GPU is the same.
Regarding compatibility in gaming, AMD R5 M335 should be able to handle all games launched pre 2015, quite smoothly. Games that are usually optimized great, like the GTA V, will most likely give 30-35fps without a hassle. But, some of the newer games might have their own set of system requirements and might lag a little if the game settings aren’t checked and maintained.
It is a no brainer, that you might not want to expect yourself more than 20-25 fps under low settings for new games at 720p.
